&lt;p&gt;May 15th marked the 54th annual &lt;strong&gt;Clio Awards&lt;/strong&gt; ceremony. The event was hosted by Modern Family actor &lt;strong&gt;Eric Stonestreet&lt;/strong&gt; at the Museum of Natural History. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Attendees checked-in at the event and registered their CLIO RFID bracelets via Facebook. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There were several &amp;#8220;Like&amp;#8221; stations throughout the museum where attendees were encouraged to swipe their bracelets if they liked what they saw. Every swipe automatically posted as a status update on their Facebook wall. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Lima, Peru-based ad agency &lt;strong&gt;Mayo Draftfcb&lt;/strong&gt; won the first Project Isaac Gravity award for creating &lt;a href="http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/billboard-generates-drinking-water-out-thin-air-desert-peru-147531" target="_blank"&gt;a billboard that harvests humidity&lt;/a&gt; from the surrounding air and converts it into safe, clean drinking water.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;While the Clio Awards focuses on celebrating the best of advertising, the Honorary Clio Award has since 2009 recognized the careers of exceptional creative professionals not necessarily working in the ad industry. This year&amp;#8217;s Honorary Clio recipients were &lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/patricia-field-named-second-2013-honorary-clio-winner-149070" target="_blank"&gt;Patricia Field&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;and &lt;strong&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/william-wins-2013-honorary-clio-148742" target="_blank"&gt;will.i.am&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;For the second night’s screening, the audience was invited to test their &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQXVHITd1N4" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;span&gt;mambo moves&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, then settle in for Tim Burton&amp;#8217;s &lt;em&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.tribecafilm.com/filmguide/5151b4c1c07f5de385000003-beetlejuice" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;span&gt;Beetlejuice&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/em&gt;Special effects makeup master Lance Anderson was on hand to assist with a Tim Burton-inspired costume contest and transforming an audience member into Beetlejuice.  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;That left room for personal interpretation, but bottom line, wear something you don’t mind seeing repeatedly on social media.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Recognizing the best of social media, the Shorty Awards held their 5th annual awards ceremony, at the TimesCenter, on April 8th, in New York City.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;There was no shortage of social media celebrities, industry professionals, and special guests on site, tweeting, vining and instagramming content with the hashtag #shortyawards, to share with their loyal followers.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Online and TV star Felicia Day (@FeliciaDay) hosted the celebration, which kicked off with a video message from former Shorty winner Mayor Michael Bloomberg (@MikeBloomberg).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The Shorty Awards limit acceptance speeches to 140 characters — the maximum length of a tweet — and the results were a fast-paced show with as many fun speeches and videos it could stuff into a 90-minute show.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Shorty finalists were determined by public votes, via Twitter. &lt;a href="http://rtacademy.org" target="_blank"&gt;The Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts &amp;amp; Sciences&lt;/a&gt;, comprised of leaders in technology, journalism, business and culture, then selected the winner.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Their general categories honor the top content creators, the people and organizations producing real-time short content across Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Foursquare and the rest of the social web. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Selena Gomez (@SelenaGomez) received the Celebrity Fashion award and tied with Tara Strong (@TaraStrong) for Best Actress. Justin Bieber (@JustinBieber) won the Celebrity award and One Direction (@OneDirection) won the Band award.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Jimmy Kimmel (@JimmyKimmel) accepted his Lifetime Achievement Award with a video featuring some of the many kids across the country who have turned his videos into viral sensations. &lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Last Thursday, Event Correspondent, Danielle Marshall joined UltraViolet’s protest against Rick Ross, outside Reebok’s Fifth Avenue flagship store. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;UltraViolet’s protest appears to have worked, because today, Reebok told &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Ross to get lost because his new song “&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://rapgenius.com/Rocko-uoeno-lyrics" target="_blank"&gt;U.O.E.N.O.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span&gt;” cheerfully describes what seems to be a date-rape scenario.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;A brand spokesperson revealed via email that the one-year partnership is over.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

The Jacob Javitz Center has officially opened its doors to the public for the annual &lt;a href="http://www.autoshowny.com" target="_blank"&gt;New York International Auto Show&lt;/a&gt;. Although many of the debuts and beautiful women modeling next to luxury vehicles take place inside, &lt;a href="http://www.jeep.com/en/" target="_blank"&gt;Jeep brand&lt;/a&gt; invites auto show attendees to experience their test track outside, at Camp Jeep.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;img alt="image" src="http://media.tumblr.com/40918c4a2bcd4a63c00e0818e47609d6/tumblr_inline_mkhg81JzKV1qz4rgp.jpg"/&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;The Camp Jeep outdoor test track is comprised of several obstacles, which simulate the rigorous testing that Jeep vehicles endure such as rugged terrain, ground clearance, traction, stability, maneuverability and unchallenged articulation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;This year, participants will be automatically entered into the 2013 Chrysler Group National Giveaway for a chance to win $45,000 towards any eligible Chrysler Group vehicle.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We caught up with Jim Morrison, Head of Jeep Product Marketing, and sat shotgun while he drove us around the test track. In addition to his corporate title, Morrison is basically a professional 4x4 driver. During our rides (we experienced the track in all of the models: Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Unlimited model), he explained the capabilities of the vehicles, while we discussed the evolution of Camp Jeep.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;Since 2004 Camp Jeep has appeared at over 50 different shows around the U.S. Over these nine years, 180,000 people have participated in Camp Jeep, and according to Morrison, that number will reach 200,000 this year.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;All hail the Junk King, Vince Hanneman&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="MsoNormal"&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;At one point in the 1990s, Vince Hanneman was in charge of the city’s recycling program. And it worked out really well, because he could bring home more old bikes, TVs and appliances to add to the tiers of trash spiraling upward in his backyard. Not an untidy pile, but an architectural oddity he called his cathedral, a place where he could have coffee overlooking the yard in the morning, or parties at night, with its various rooms lit with Christmas lights. Tens of thousands have visited, some have even held weddings here.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Vince was, at the time, renting the property, which makes his achievement all the more notable. The sculpture did appear briefly in a “Spy Kids” movie, and in recent years Vince has begun selling a series of smaller works made from found objects too.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Just last year the Cathedral was in danger of demolition. Issues with the easement, troubles finding a structural engineer to validate it’s safety…and it got down to the wire. Luckily, Vince found the engineer, the lawyers, and architect and an army of volunteers moved 40 tons of junk out of the easement and he got his permit. &lt;p&gt;“Take out your phone, Instagram a selfie and hashtag it #viralstyle,” instructed Fulenwider, when she took the stage, in front of South By’s most style conscious crowd. She went on to explain that the picture would be judged by Garcia and Zuckerberg with a prize going to the best shot—an appropriate way to start off a panel about the integration of fashion in tech, which Garcia acknowledged as “fashion’s next big thing.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The panel discussed the biggest tech collaboration, between Google and &lt;a href="http://us.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/TopCategoriesDisplay?storeId=13052&amp;amp;catalogId=33060&amp;amp;geoip=home#slide1" target="_blank"&gt;Topshop&lt;/a&gt;, that came out of this past fashion week. What made this fashion show unique was the integration of the live-stream and the ability to show everyone’s point of views, which in return provided incredible branding opportunities and data for brands and buyers about what shoppers respond to.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;The panel’s consensus regarding &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.google.com/glass/start/" target="_blank"&gt;Google Glass&lt;/a&gt;, was that it could look more stylish. Garcia even&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;suggested recruiting Tom Ford, to design the wearables. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Additional takeaways from Garcia, Zuckerburg and Goldman included:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“I think we’re living in very exciting times when it’s all about the new and the change.” -Nina Garcia, regarding fashion.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“The difference between a blogger and an editor is that a blogger has a very personal view” -Nina Garcia&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;“To me Pinterest is like crack cocaine to an addict” -Nina Garcia&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Zuckerburg, suggested fashion brands take a page from Apple’s branding tactics, using faster turnaround for attainability.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;“It’s one thing to send a model down a runway with a QR code vs truly integrating social into a brand’s DNA.” -Randi Zuckerburg &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
